 Caring and cleaning your monthly disposable contact lenses in the morning:

 

  • Wash your hands with soap and water
  • Dry them on a lint-free towel
  • Remove the contact lens from the case
  • Place it in the palm of your hand and rinse with fresh contact lens solution
  • Place the lens in your eye, repeat these steps with the other contact lens
  • Tip the used contact lens solution from the lens case out into the basin
  • Rinse with fresh contact lens solution and shake off excess drops
  • Leave the case open to air dry

 

Caring and cleaning your monthly disposable contact lenses in the evening:

 

  • Rinse the air-dried lens case with fresh contact lens solution to remove any dust particles
  • Wash your hands with soap and water
  • Dry them on a lint-free towel
  • Remove the contact lens from your eye
  • Place the lens in the palm of your hand, apply 3 drops of contact lens solution to each side and gently rub for 10 seconds on each side
  • Thoroughly rinse each side of the contact lens with fresh contact lens solution
  • Place the cleaned lens in the lens case, and fill with contact lens solution
  • Repeat these steps with the other contact lens
  • Soak your lenses overnight, or for at least 4 hours

Inserting and removing your contact lenses

 




 

The one hand placement technique

 

  1. Place the centre of the lens on the tip of your index finger (see picture above) and ensure your lens is the right way up
  2. Look straight ahead at yourself in a mirror and pull down the lower eyelid with the middle finger of your placement hand
  3. Keeping your head still, look at a point above you
  4. Then place the lens on the lower white part of your eye
  5. Remove your index finger and slowly release the lower lid
  6. Look down and position the lens properly

 

 

How to remove contact lenses

 

  1. Whilst looking up, slowly pull down your lower eyelid with the middle finger of your removal hand and place your index finger on the lower edge of the lens
  2. Slide the lens down to the white part of your eye
  3. Squeeze the lens slightly between the thumb and index finger and remove from the eye
